How to Throw A Birthday Party for P30,000 (or less)

H

Every mom’s dream is throw her son or daughter the PERFECT birthday party. Who wouldn’t? As with everything else though, reality steps in all too quickly, and we are confronted with something as unavoidable as death and taxes:

BUDGET

To give you an idea, if you are a middle to upper-middle class parent, and would like to throw your child a decent party, the going all-in rate right now is anywhere between P100,000 to P300,000. Before you pull out your pitchforks, let me tell you that this is a perfectly reasonable estimate, as this already includes things such as: invitations, food, venue rental, styling/decor, photography, food carts, host and entertainment, prizes, giveaways. Every little thing adds up to a big amount.

But what if I told you that it is perfectly reasonable to celebrate your child’s party by just spending P30,000, all-in? That’s just 10% of P300,000, or at a 90% discount to the going rate. Moreover, this P30,000 already includes:

Food

Venue Rental

Decor (minimal)

Giveaways (minimal)

Sounds good, right? If you’ve read my article on 3 Quick Ways To Reduce Your Birthday Party Costs By 70% (or more), the secret lies in there. More specifically, I’m talking about getting a venue that offers free rental in exchange for you availing of their catering package.

But what if the venue looks too cheap, and the food is bad tasting? Usually its only these types of venues that offer these sweet deals right?

Wrong. And here’s an example of the food you can enjoy at the restaurant I will reveal below:

That restaurant is Cafe Shibuya, along UP Town Centre (near Ateneo, Miriam, UP along Katipunan Ave.). Although this restaurant is popular for their delectable honey toast (see picture below), a little known secret is that for a minimal fee, they can close off their restaurant to host your party.

How much is the damage? Just a few weeks before, a client hosted a party for 55 persons at a cost P530 / pax. That’s a total of P29,150, exclusive of 10% service charge. You can download a Cafe Shibuya’s sample catering contract for more details:

Take note, although Cafe Shibuya is a great deal, there are many, many more other places which are reasonably priced and offers great ambiance and food. You don’t have to break the bank to throw a good party.

A few blog posts down the road, I will be blogging about Kiddie Party Venues that Cost P10,000 (or less), so stay tuned!

‘Til the next party,

  • This a Totally offensive article! People in the philippines pay 15-25k a month for their rent and you are talking about birthday party’s being small at 30k. A birthday party in the philippines can easily be accomplished for 3-6k I don’t know what kind of shaboo you are taking but this is offensive!

  • the going all-in rate right now is anywhere between P100,000 to P300,000 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are insane! That is a whole year salary for 90% of mother’s in the philippines! Stop spreading your silver spoon mentality around the internet! And judging by your name you are most likely not Filipino or married to a foreigner!
