So now that you’re probably well-versed with what I call the stalwarts in venue offerings (think Whitespace, Blue Leaf, Greenmeadows, etc.), I thought that people might be interested in really nice venues that, for some reason or another, they’ve never even heard of.
This list of “hidden gems” can be quite a useful tool for further research. Now buckle up, because trust me, I will show you some venue suggestions that will make you think, now why didn’t I think of that?
THE “HIDDEN GEM” VENUES IN METRO MANILA
1. BLUE LEAF COSMOPOLITAN
I decided to open this list with a venue that I’m quite sure you’ve never heard of, because well, it doesn’t even exist yet! Brought to you by the same people who masterminded Blue Leaf McKinley and Blue Leaf Filipinas (along Macapagal Ave.), you will be sure that the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan is another venue worthy of being a stalwart.
The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan is conveniently located further up north than its counterparts in Taguig and Pasay, more specifically in sprawling Quezon City.
The venue is set to open on September 2016
What I Like: Blue Leaf being Blue Leaf, I am expecting tasteful interiors, high ceiling, ample parking, and of course, impeccable, top notch service.

2. METROTENT CONVENTION CENTER
Metrotent in my opinion is one of the most overlooked venues in Metro Manila. Why so? I actually do not know why, because I see a lot good things in this venue. Think of Metrotent as a better Centris Elements, or a bigger White Space. I actually styled a party last weekend at this venue, so I’m going to share with you some shots from this event:
What I Like: Metrotent has 2 really strong factors going for it – its massive size (half of the tent can accommodate 400-500 seated guests already!), and its sprawling parking space. Other things I like: ample airconditioning (this is a bit surprising considering the huge size of the venue), central location (in Pasig), high ceiling, and minimal interior (easy to style). The only downside that I can see is their rate (check it out below).

3. ASTORIA CHARDONNAY
This is truly a rare venue option for anybody, and I know this because I’ve never done a party here before! However, this could be a truly viable option for any birthday celebration. The venue capacity is mid-sized, good for about 150 pax or 15 tables, the interior is lushly decorated, and the ceiling intricately designed.
What I Like: Accessible location (Pasig City), no rental fee (only a per-person catering fee), elegant interior.

4. SAMPAGUITA GARDENS
Again, another venue that I have never styled myself, but is certainly intriguing. The famed Sampaguita Gardens is a literal hidden paradise tucked away in the heart of the San Juan/Quezon City border, along Valencia Street. Unknown to most people, Sampaguita Gardens actually offers 3 separate venues: The Events Place (picture below), The Vera Perez Gardens, and The Ancestral Home.
What I Like: Accessible location (Pasig City), elegant interior, and a paradise-like exterior.

5. CENTURY MALL EVENTS CENTER
What I Like: Good for those based in Makati/South area, ample parking (park at the mall), lots of daylight, clean, minimal interior.

6. THE TENTS AT ALPHALAND SOUTHGATE
Here’s another suggestion – try out the Tents at Alphaland (you that building along EDSA near the Magallanes flyover?). The venue looks very inviting and spacious, plus, if you have an afternoon party, you get to enjoy the sunset!
What I Like: Accessible location, great view, modern, simplistic interior, ample venue capacity (300-400 persons)

7. CITIES EVENTS PLACE
A lesser known venue is a place (building) called Cities Events Place. This intimate building actually houses 3 potential venues – the Main Hall (picture below), the Deck (great for outdoor parties/cocktails, evening events), and the Bar (small area good for a night of music). Although a little bit on the smaller side, the Main Hall is nevertheless richly adorned in textures and can be decorated with style.
What I Like: Convenient location (near Tomas Morato area), well designed interior, intimate venue capacity.
